Illustration of the three angels of Revelation 14 flying in the midst of heaven

Revelation 14 records three angels flying in the midst of heaven, each with a message to preach to everyone who dwells on the earth. Together they form the final warning given to the world before the return of Christ — and they are the message Time Is At Hand exists to carry.

The first angel — fear God and give Him glory

Revelation 14:6–7 — And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

Four commands sit inside one verse. Fear God — respect Him and give Him your allegiance. Give glory to Him — reflect His character, as Christ did. The hour of His judgment is come — heaven’s tribunal is in session. Worship Him who made heaven and earth — worship the Creator, on the Creator’s terms.

The second angel — Babylon is fallen

Revelation 14:8 — And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

Babylon takes its name from Babel — confusion. The wine of Babylon is her false teaching, and the call of Revelation 18:4 is unambiguous: Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins.

The third angel — the warning against the mark

Revelation 14:9–10 — And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God.

This is the sternest warning in Scripture. It divides humanity into two groups — those who receive the mark of the beast, and those who receive the seal of the living God.

The people the message produces

Revelation 14:12 — Here is the patience of the saints; here are they that keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

The three messages are not merely warnings. They produce a people: patient, commandment-keeping, holding the faith of Jesus.
