Psalm 24:1 — The earth is the LORD’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
This is the first important lesson for everyone to learn in the school of true science. It is an important lesson for every kindred, tongue and people — the earth belongs to the LORD and the fulness thereof, this world and they that dwell therein.
Many people prefer if God had not made this claim. They would have preferred a planet without an owner and without order — a planet where the rich exploit the poor, the strong dominate and manipulate the weak, and the fittest of the fit survive. But God declares that the earth belongs to Him, and finally, “His will shall be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
By chance, or by design
Some people believe that the earth came about by a spontaneous random event. Evil men and seducers are desperately trying to prove the so-called “big bang theory.” But those are vain lectures contrary to the word of God, which says the earth belongs to the LORD and the fulness thereof.
Those who are mesmerised and deceived by Satan believe the earth and life came by chance, so we can live and die by chance. But true science tells us of the intelligent design of God — and to those who believe in evolution: the earth is the LORD’s and the fulness thereof.
In Christ we live and move and have our being.
Acts 17:28 — For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
Those who believe that they evolved from monkeys — the monkeys belong to God as well. Satan and evil men are pushing hard to remove the name of God from His creation, but the earth is the Lord’s and the fulness thereof.
Stewards, not proprietors
Psalm 100:3 — Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
We are not proprietors of ourselves; we are stewards, caretakers over God’s property. No one is at liberty to go after his own pleasure without serious consequences. No one is at liberty to mark up, pierce up and dress up at their own pleasure.
Qualifications
I founded the earth and established the heavens (see Proverbs 3:19). I formed man from the dust of the ground (see Genesis 2:7). I breathed into man the breath of life (see Genesis 2:7). I redeemed man from the curse of the law (see Galatians 3:13).
Psalm 103:3 — Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.
Materialism is false because matter was created by God. Pantheism is false because God is not in everything. Polytheism is false because God alone is creator. Atheism is false because God is a fact and He is real.
The great Land owner
Psalm 24:1 — The earth is the LORD’s, and the fulness thereof…
This shows the divine sovereignty and authority over everything. God’s sovereignty is over all places, people, seasons and events. However, people parcel the earth and show ownership; God is the great Land owner, and His sovereignty is over all the inhabitants of the earth.
God created it and He sustains it. When He created the world, He did not leave it; He is always active in all the things of nature, He watches over the affairs of humanity and guides the path of history. Your ancestors built, lived and are gone, but the earth remains. You will remain for a while and then you are gone, giving way to your children and grandchildren, but the earth remains.
The earth is the Lord’s — the whole world belongs to God. He is the Creator of the earth, and therefore its sole Proprietor. It belongs to Him; He has the final say in everything. We claim it as our own; God alone has a right to the earth and to all that it produces. He has a right to do with it as He pleases. He makes the rules and establishes the laws, and no one on earth is above His laws.
Proverbs 3:19 — The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.
Therefore the earth is the Lord’s and the fulness thereof.
