# What Is Bible Truth? Part Two

> 2 Peter 1:12 has Peter resolve not to be negligent in putting believers in remembrance of these things, though they know them and are established in the present truth. This part takes up why Bible truth must be kept ever before the people, what it does for those who walk in it, and why truth cannot be known without the Spirit of truth — for it begins with Christ and ends with Him.

> **2 Peter 1:12** — Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in
> remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the
> present truth.

The foundation of eternal life is strategically laid in Bible Truth. Bible
Truth is the entrance into God's everlasting kingdom. Christ is the Way, the
Truth and the Life; therefore, Peter wants to be diligent in keeping it ever
before the people.

## Truth is the foundation of Christ's church

Truth is the foundation of Christ's Church, and we must always have a
knowledge of it.

Peter says, "Though ye know these things, and be established in the present
truth, I'll remind you."

"I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things."

Peter believes it is of great importance for him to bring Bible Truth to the
remembrance of believers, and it's very important for Ministers to do the same
in these last days.

## Things new and old: why the truth must be repeated

People are liable to forget and must always be given refresher courses. New and
old truths must be emphasised to keep the listeners up to date.

Amidst the cares and distractions of life, even true Christians are prone to
forget Bible Truth, and it is the duty of God's Servants to keep reminding them
of the truth even though it's well known and understood.

A diligent gospel minister of the kingdom will always bring forth out of his
treasure things new and old.

> **Matthew 13:52** — Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is
> instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an
> householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.

"Repetition," they say, deepens "impression" — we need more than AI generated
materials; we must have a deep Holy Ghost inspired impression of Bible Truth.

## Walking in truth: freedom, light and life

> **3 John 1:4** — I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in
> truth.

Error darkens the mind, and fetters the soul, but the truth brings freedom,
light and life.

> **John 8:32** — And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you
> free.

Bible truth is our gateway to a rich experience with God and our safe path
from a life of miseries.

> **Psalm 91:4** — He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings
> shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

## Defining and living the truth

> **John 16:12** — I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear
> them now.

> **John 16:13** — Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide
> you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he
> shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

    Guided, not merely informed

somewhere they have not yet been.

Without the Spirit of Truth we cannot know the Truth, and will find ourselves
in the same situation as Pontius Pilate.

We need more than truth talk — only through the Spirit of Truth are we able to
influence minds.

We must study to know the Truth and to rightly divide it under the influence
of the Spirit.

> **2 Timothy 2:15** — Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that
> needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Truth begins with Christ and ends with Him. He is the embodiment — the epitome
— of the everlasting truth.

He saith, I am the way, "the truth," and the life: no man cometh unto the
Father, but by me.

> **John 14:6** — Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
> no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Christ is the absolute Truth, whether written or spoken — He is past, present
and future Truth. The same yesterday, today and for ever.

> **Hebrews 13:8** — Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Now that we know what Truth is, we shall move on to look at its history and
how it is applied in the Bible.

opens with Pilate's question in John 18:38 and answers it from Scripture:
truth is of God, Christ is truth made visible, and Bible truth must be known,
must transform us, and must be rightly divided.

On the Spirit of truth, who with the Father and the Son is God,
