# Overcoming Obstacles: Part Eight

> Revelation 3:21 is the last of the seven promises to the overcomer, and the highest: to sit with Christ in His throne. Life is about overcoming, and Christ shows how it is done — He overcame first, and now invites us to sit down with Him.

> **Revelation 3:21** — To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my
> throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

There are those who are experiencing the crippling effects of low mood, of
anxiety, helplessness, loneliness and hopelessness. To them it seems as if life
is unfair and not worth living — but God has assured us that there is mercy and
deliverance for those who will seek help from heaven.

Life is full of multiple challenges and obstacles, but we can overcome them if
we ask God to help. There is no failure with God to those who earnestly seek His
help and faithfully follow His guidance and counsels.

## The last of the seven promises

Revelation 3:21 is the last of seven promises set before the Christian
conquerors of the seven churches. To the Christian who overcomes life's
obstacles is given the pleasure of sitting with Christ on His throne. They will
reign with Him throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity. There can be no higher
honour than this given to humanity.

## Christ shows how it is done

Life is all about overcoming vicissitudes, obstacles and setbacks, and Christ
shows us how it is done. We must overcome the same way that Christ overcame,
following His example and pattern.

> **John 16:33** — These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have
> peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have
> overcome the world.

## There is no other help

The world is a place of tribulation, false hope and promises, evil intentions
and evil actions. But there is a better way, a way of escape through Christ —
there is no other help.

> **John 14:6** — Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
> no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Christ is the Overcomer who offers to help us solve our greatest problems and
overcome this world of evil and obstacles. The conflicts of life are great and
keep intensifying, but Christ says, *"To him that overcometh will I grant to sit
with me."* This is an extraordinary promise that should not be taken lightly. It
requires strength, courage, fortitude and strong determination — but Christ has
made all provision for you to have these and more.

## The promise is for the overcomers

In all things we see that life is about overcoming, and the promise of the verse
is for the overcomers. To those who prevail and conquer in the strength of the
Lord, the final promise is made. Those who are faithful and true to the end will
be granted to sit on the throne of God. What a selfless and most remarkable
expression of love, that the subjects can sit with God on His throne.

Christ has overcome the world of tribulation and is set down with the Father on
His throne — and now invites you and me to sit down with Him on the throne. This
is most amazing, and the greatest of all promotion, exaltation, grandeur and
glory that anyone on earth can achieve.

May God help us all to be among the overcomers. The promise is for you and me —
let us embrace it without hesitation.
