Romans 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began… Rom 16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: Rom 16:27 To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.
Since the beginning-portions of the truth were concealed in typology and prophecy. The prophets were perplexed as to what could be the true meaning and significance of their predictions (Peter 1:10-12). Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. 12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.1 Peter 1:10-12 (KJV)
Since the advent of Christ the mystery of the gospel started to unfold unto His people. This is what HE said to HIS Disciples, “And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables. Mark 4:11 (KJV). Since the advent movement and the great awakening, the whole mystery has been made manifested, and the time for silence has passed away: The mystery is finished (Revelation 10:5. “Go ye into all the world and preach the Everlasting Gospel. The truth of the everlasting gospel is not a Mystery anymore. It must reach to every nation kindred tongue and people.
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. 1 Tim 3:16 (KJV). Christianity is a mystery way above reason, a mystery that cannot be explained by philosophy-The mystery of Godliness is from above- to understand it we must seek wisdom from above. The mystery of Godliness is not concealed anymore– it is revealed in Christ.
The mystery of Godliness, the mystery of the gospel and the mystery of the survival of the church are all tied together. The word “mystery” in Scripture doesn’t suggest that the fact or truth cannot be understood, only that it is not known except as revealed from God (Mark 4:11).
Paul used the word “mystery” frequently. In several of these cases, the term is used in reference to the extensive universality of the everlasting gospel (Eph_3:6) This great gospel mystery forms one of the great subjects Paul’s epistles. Here is an interesting list of some of the passages that opens to view the great mystery: (Rom 11:25; Rom 16:25; 1 Cor 2:7; Eph 1:9; Eph 3:3; Eph 3:4; Eph 3:9; Eph 5:32; Eph 6:19; Col 1:26,27; Col 2:2; Col 4:3; I Tim 3:9). Paul seems the spend considerable amount of time emphasising the mystery of the gospel. The mystery is concealed in Christ and can only be revealed universally through Him.
The bible tells us that we have all sinned. But Christ is made manifest to bring us salvation through the preaching of the mystery of the gospel. This was the Divine truth which Paul desired firmly to establish in the imperial city of the world, in order for it to go forth to all mankind. The mystery of the gospel contains a power that is greater than Rome, and all the great cities of the world. The great everlasting gospel which was shrouded in mystery is now crystal clear, and will be preached unto every kindred tongue and people before the end comes. It will shake the foundation of hell, defeat the Dragon, the Beast and the false Prophets of Revelation. This mystery has been revealed to you and me. If you have received it, and you are blest by it, you are to live it and teach it to the honour and glory of God.
